The Role:
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to work on afternoon shift in our state of the art facility in Truganina.
In this role as a Diesel Mechanic you will be working with and supported by a team of likeminded professionals, maintaining the fleet of late model vehicles and other equipment to ensure a great result, safely.
Key Responsibilities:
Completion of safety audits, equipment/tooling safety checks and Workshop inspections
In conjunction with the Workshop Manager endeavor to ensure that statutory inspections and maintenance are carried out on relevant Company assets
Source competitive prices for parts, ordering, tracking, and ensuring parts arrive in the workshop on time to meet the needs of the Workshop Manager and the workshop staff.
Management of workshop parts stock organization control
Creation of and monitoring of service/repair schedules for trucks and preparing service/repair daily priority lists from the driver daily checklists for the Workshop Manager as required
Ensure maintenance schedule for all equipment and assets is actioned and remains current
Liaise with suppliers, drivers, other members of staff and customers to ensure all matters are dealt with in a timely manner
Interfaces with others in the Company to ensure deadlines are met
Any other reasonable tasks not listed above but within the scope of current experience, knowledge, ability and training
In addition to the above, your day to day responsibilities will include:
Carry out scheduled services on various vehicles and equipment
Diagnose and fault find mechanical and electrical problems
Carry out truck and trailer maintenance, inspections & repairs
Complete required paperwork such as job cards and service sheets at the completion of each job
Carry out general workshop duties as required
Attend breakdowns when required
Communicate with all staff
Maintain workshop equipment

Personal Attributes and Key Competencies:
Possess a Trade Qualification as a Diesel Mechanic – Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or similar
Ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment
Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, productive & positive workshop environment
Solid allocating, scheduling, and planning skills
Attention to detail
Time management
Safety, product, and profit orientated
Motivated and able to meet strict deadlines
Reliable with a good work ethics
Commitment to safety and customer service
Proven experience in a similar fleet workshop-based role
Open HR license preferred but not essential
Willing to provide own tools
