Lead Mechanic / 2IC (Foreman) – Full-Time | $35–$50/hr + Overtime | Koo Wee Rup, VIC
G&E Automotive Services is on the lookout for an experienced Lead Mechanic / 2IC (Foreman) to join our busy and well-established workshop in Koo Wee Rup, Victoria. This is a full-time role offering $35 to $50 per hour, plus overtime, with plenty of opportunity for growth and long-term career development.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Oversee daily workshop operations, coordinate the team, prioritise jobs, and maintain a smooth workflow
Carry out advanced diagnostics and repairs across a wide range of makes and models
Delegate tasks, support team members, and uphold the highest standards of workmanship
Liaise with customers to explain issues and provide clear updates on vehicle repairs
Keep accurate records of parts, labour, and service details
Help improve workshop processes and share feedback
Mentor and train apprentices and junior technicians
What We’re Looking For:
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a qualified mechanic
Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a workshop environment
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
Valid Victorian driver’s licence
Experience with modern diagnostic tools and software
