We’re not looking for “just a mechanic”.

We’re looking for someone who wants to eventually move into store management, help run a high-performing store, and grow with a business with serious ambitions.

About the business
We operate multiple Bridgestone Select Tyre & Auto stores in Melbourne’s south-east, with a clear growth plan.

The owners are actively involved at a strategic level, with strong systems, clear expectations, and a long-term vision. This role is part of that plan.

The Role
This is a dual-role position – ideally you’ll be late 3rd year or just in your 4th year of your apprenticeship or alternatively qualified. What does the role entail?

Qualified Mechanic on the tools
Assistant Manager (in training) supporting the Store Manager
Over time, you’ll work closely with the Store Manager and the owners, with exposure to:

Day-to-day store operations
Customer service and phone enquiries
Workflow and job prioritisation
Team support and mentoring
Sales conversion and service standards

We need someone who:

Can confidently work on vehicles
Is comfortable stepping out front, helping answer phones, supporting customers, and keeping the store flowing when it matters most
This is not a “head down, headphones on” role.

What we’re looking for
Must-haves:

Qualified light vehicle mechanic or close to qualification (12-18 months)
Strong diagnostic and repair skills
Good communication with customers and teammates
Comfortable answering phones and explaining work
Calm under pressure when the shop gets busy
Minimum 3 years experience in the workshop.
Highly valued:

Leadership potential (even if you haven’t had the title yet)
Interest in learning how a store actually runs
Desire to grow into management over time
Pride in customer experience, not just workmanship
