Job Description:

Working in a car yard, garage or a detailing workshop, Vehicle Detailers wash, scrub and polish the interiors and exteriors of cars, buses and trucks to clean and protect the appearance of vehicles and its components. Specifically, this will include vacuuming, washing, polishing, painting wheels, degreasing and steam cleaning the engine and underbody and carrying out minor repairs to damaged paint work. Detailers may work alone or as part of a team.

Requirements:

To be awarded the qualification, the New Apprentice must attain a successful assessment of all 4 compulsory core competency standards, all of the listed stream competency standards, plus 3 elective standards from the automotive 'bank' or any endorsed Industry Training Package at the same AQF Level.

Duration:

This competency based program is likely to extend over a period of up to 12 months, depending on the achievement of the required competencies (this period may vary between States/Territories).
