Job Description:

This job involves carrying out diagnostic procedures, installing, testing and repair of wiring/lighting systems on trailers or caravans and removing, replacing, fitting and testing components or accessories. In completing this work, it will be necessary to carry out fabrication of components and welding, soldering and thermal cutting and heating activities.

Requirements:

To be awarded the qualification, the New Apprentice must attain a successful assessment of all 4 compulsory core competency standards, all of the listed stream competency standards, plus 3 elective standards from the automotive 'bank' or any endorsed Industry Training Package at the same AQF Level.

Duration:

This competency based program is likely to extend over a period of up to 12 months, depending on the achievement of the required competencies (this period may vary between States/Territories).
