Job Description:
This job involves carrying out diagnostic procedures, the overhaul and repair of diesel fuel systems and components, the servicing of diesel fuel injection systems and the service and repair of emission control and engine forced induction systems. In carrying out this work, minor repairs to electrical circuits and servicing and repair of electronic engine management systems will also be required.

Requirements:
To be awarded the qualification, the New Apprentice must attain a successful assessment of all 4 compulsory core competency standards, all of the listed stream competency standards, plus 3 elective standards from the automotive 'bank' or any endorsed Industry Training Package at the same AQF Level.
Duration:
This competency based program is likely to extend over a period of up to 4 years, depending on the achievement of the required competencies (this period may vary between States/Territories).
