Job Description:
This job involves applying diagnostic procedures to determine symptoms/faults, the repair and servicing of cooling systems and associated components and the carrying out of radiator repairs for light/heavy vehicles, plant, motor cycles, marine and outdoor power equipment. It will also involve the carrying out of welding, soldering, thermal cutting and heating procedures.

Requirements:
To be awarded the qualification, the New Apprentice must attain a successful assessment of all 4 compulsory core competency standards, all of the listed stream competency standards, plus 3 elective standards from the automotive 'bank' or any endorsed Industry Training Package at the same AQF Level.
Duration:
This competency based program is likely to extend over a period of up to 12 months, depending on the achievement of the required competencies (this period may vary between States/Territories).
