Job Description:

This job involves the carrying out of diagnostic procedures, repair and servicing of clutch assemblies, overhaul, repair and servicing of manual transmissions and final drive assemblies and the repair and servicing of drive shafts, tail shafts, chains, tracks, gears and associated components for light/heavy vehicles, motor cycles, plant and outdoor power equipment.

Requirements:

To be awarded the qualification, the New Apprentice must attain a successful assessment of all 4 compulsory core competency standards, all of the listed stream competency standards, plus 3 elective standards from the automotive 'bank' or any endorsed Industry Training Package at the same AQF Level.

Duration:

This competency based program is likely to extend over a period of up to 12 months, depending on the achievement of the required competencies (this period may vary between States/Territories).
