Job Description:

This job involves fitting, installing, servicing and repairing of air-conditioning units on various types of vehicles such as cars, trucks and vans, tractors and other machinery. These activities will include completing minor repairs to electrical circuits/systems, welding, soldering, thermal cutting and heating.

Requirements:

To be awarded the qualification, the New Apprentice must attain a successful assessment of all 4 compulsory core competency standards, all of the listed stream competency standards, plus 3 elective standards from the automotive 'bank' or any endorsed Industry Training Package at the same AQF Level.

Duration:

This competency based program is likely to extend over a period of up to 12 months, depending on the achievement of the required competencies (this period may vary between States/Territories).
