Job Description:

This job will be located in a boat workshop or in a combined workshop/retail sales outlet. The duties will involve repair and servicing of deck, hull, cabin equipment and fittings, washing, cleaning and maintaining glass, internal/external floors, fittings, fixtures and wet areas. There is also customer related activities such as maintaining records, use of office equipment, customer relations, service and delivery. In completing this program, there is the ability to encompass many of the sales aspects of the Certificate II Marine Salesperson program through the choice of elective competencies.

Requirements:

To be awarded the qualification, the New Apprentice must attain a successful assessment of all 4 compulsory core competency standards, all of the listed stream competency standards, plus 3 elective standards from the automotive 'bank' or any endorsed Industry Training Package at the same AQF Level.

Duration:

This competency based program is likely to extend over a period of up to 12 months, depending on the achievement of the required competencies (this period may vary between States/Territories).
