Job Description:
This job involves carrying out diagnostic procedures, installing, testing and repair of wiring/lighting systems on trailers or caravans and on electrical security systems and components, installing ancillary electrical equipment and carrying out minor repairs to electrical circuits/systems. Other duties will include testing, servicing and replacing batteries and soldering activities.

Requirements:
To be awarded the qualification, the New Apprentice must attain a successful assessment of all 4 compulsory core competency standards, all of the listed stream competency standards, plus 3 elective standards from the automotive 'bank' or any endorsed Industry Training Package at the same AQF Level.
Duration:
This competency based program is likely to extend over a period of up to 12 months, depending on the achievement of the required competencies (this period may vary between States/Territories).
