Job Description:

The operator could undertake a variety of tasks appropriate to the particular workplace in the manufacture and assembly of buses and/or trucks and/or trailers. The range of duties will include reading and interpreting working drawings, basic welding, cutting, fabricating, finishing and painting of surfaces, assembling and fitting out components and minor modifications and repairs. Other duties may include receiving and storing parts, operating load shifting equipment and working with others in a team production environment.

Requirements:

To be awarded this qualification, the New Apprentice must attain a successful assessment in a minimum of 14 competencies from the Certificate II menu comprising the 7 compulsory core standards, plus 6 standards from the Certificate II common menu, plus any other 1 from the total Certificate II menu.

Duration:

This competency based program is likely to extend over a period of up to 12 months, depending on the achievement of the required competencies (this period may vary between States/Territories).
