Job Description:

This job will involve a variety of tasks appropriate to the particular workplace in the manufacture of aftermarket products. Duties will include preparing, maintaining and using tools and equipment, operating computer equipment, basic welding, cutting, fabrication and bonding. In carrying out this work, reading and interpreting drawings may be necessary as well as co-ordinating with others in a team production environment.

*NB: A pre-requisite requirement for this unit applies. The requirement is the completion of the unit: AUR31268B Select and apply trim/fabric materials.

Requirements:

To be awarded the qualification, the New Apprentice must attain a successful assessment in a total of 14 units, including all 7 compulsory core competency standards, 4 of the listed stream competency standards, plus 3 elective standards at the Certificate II level or above, which may be sourced from the above list or any endorsed Industry Training Package.

Duration:

This competency based program is likely to extend over a period of up to 12 months, depending on the achievement of the required competencies (this period may vary between States/Territories).
